AR-Land Comm: Bryant To Hold Fundraiser This Friday

16 Aug

BHR fave and state Dem phenom L.J. Bryant, who faces Republican John Thurston to determine who will succeed outgoing Land Commish Mark Wilcox, will hold a lunch time fundraiser at Doe’s Eat Place in Little Rock this Friday.

Bryant is attempting to retire the remaining $150k+ in debt left from his bitterly contested primary runoff against the presumed frontrunner, state Rep. Monty Davenport, as he sets his sights towards the fall campaign season heading into November. As we’ve noted here previously, Bryant has thus far been pitted against one of the most disorganized and hapless statewide campaigns we have seen in recent memory, John Thurston, who has still yet to show he is a legitimate candidate outside of meeting minimum age requirements and paying to have his name listed on the ballot.

The fundraiser will take place from 11:30am-1pm, with a suggested minimum contribution of $250. The guest lists includes state party heavyweights from all circles, including Gov. Mike Beebe, Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, retiring Congressmen Marion Berry and Vic Snyder, and (our favorite state lawmaker) Sen. David Johnson. The flier is posted below.
